Abstract

The Papers consist of rodeo programs, publications, newspaper clippings, and personal scrapbooks compiled by Carol Mowinkel throughout her life. The materials highlight the life and career of a 20th century woman in a traditionally man’s field.

Abstract Papers and photographs of Lt. Colonel John M. Hamilton, a soldier whose career spanned almost 40 years, from the Civil War through the Indian Wars, until finally ending with his death on San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War. The collection includes biographical material such as newspaper and first-person accounts of Hamilton’s military career.
