This small collection of rodeo photographs and postcards prominently features Bob Askin, a well-known and respected saddle bronc rider of the 1920s, who was inducted into the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s Rodeo Hall of Fame in 1978.
This small collection features several portrait proofs of Donald Nesbitt by Distinctive Portraiture of Denver, Colorado. Nesbitt was a well-known rodeo contestant in five of the major rodeo events and was one of the first rodeo honorees to be inducted in the Rodeo Hall of Fame, in 1955.
This small collection contains 22 photographs, some of which have copy negatives available, and 6 photocopies of photographs. The majority of the photographs represent Hughie Long participating in various rodeo events. Jiggs Bailey is present in two of the photographs and several of the photographs are from the Chicago World’s Fair Rodeo.
The PRCA Rodeo Photographs include 8,818 photographs and 21 negatives depicting animals, participants, and rodeo events probably published in the Rodeo Sports News magazine. It is arranged alphabetically by subject of image. Photographers include Helfrich DeVere and Ferrell Butler.
